Kitchen Chair can provide polish for your wedding ceremony with a romantic processional, recessional, or moment of reflection during the ceremony. We can also provide music for your guests' enjoyment before the ceremony and during your receiving line, reception, cocktail hour, or wedding meal.

Our music draws from French Canadian, Celtic, Scandinavian, Appalachian, and many other traditions. Most of what we play was originally played for traditional dances. It ranges from the courtly to the pastoral to the downright playful. This music offers a refreshing choice for your bridal processional or recessional.

Gail and Jennifer have been playing together since 1999 and really make the most of the flexibility of a small ensemble. With no place to hide, their arrangements showcase all the rich possibilities of one fiddle and one guitar. Kitchen Chair is known for their compelling groove and interactive style; Gail and Jennifer follow the music where it leads.

If You Want a Barn Dance or Contradance

We can help! These are fun traditional North American folk dances, which are taught by a caller and danced to music like ours. We frequently work with dance callers and can handle all the arrangements for this fun part of your reception or other event, regardless of your and your guests' level of experience.
